To compare tonal values, ArtistAssistApp can display the photo and painting side by side.

Import your reference photo.

Open the "Tonal values" tab.

Press the "⋮" button and then the "Save" button to download the tonal values image that the app has created from your reference photo.

Then import the photo of your painting.

Open the "Tonal values" tab and press the "Save" button to download the tonal values of your painting.

Open the "Compare" tab.

Import the images of tonal values to compare them side by side.

You will immediately see if your painting misses shadows or midtones.
