Comparing tonal values: painting vs. reference

ArtistAssistApp allows you to compare the tonal values of your paintings with the tonal values of reference photos. This will allow you to find missing shadows or midtones, and make sure that tonal values and contrast are perfectly balanced.
Comparing tonal values
With ArtistAssistApp, you can easily compare the tonal values of your painting with the photographs.
Sometimes artists have difficulties in determining tonal values.
To compare tonal values, ArtistAssistApp can display the photo and painting side by side.
Select your reference photo in the Photo tab.
Open the Tonal values tab.
Press the Save button to download the tonal values image of your reference photo. On devices with a small screen, to access the Save button, first press the ⋮ (vertical ellipsis) button.
Then import the photo of your painting.
Open the Tonal values tab and press the Save button to download the tonal values of your painting.
Open the Compare tab.
Select the saved images with tonal values by pressing the Select photos button.
You will immediately see if your painting misses shadows or midtones.
