1. Introduction
ArtistAssistApp ("Web App") provides tools to assist artists with various aspects of their creative process, including color mixing, image manipulation, image style transfer, tonal value studies, and grid generation for accurate drawings. Most processing occurs locally in your browser. Optional online features include account authentication, Patreon membership verification, and synchronization through Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox.
The Web App is developed and operated by Yevhen (Eugene) Khyst, a sole trader based in Ukraine. Access is provided globally. Subscription management (including sign-up, cancellation, and refunds) is handled exclusively via our Patreon page. Cloud storage is provided by the third-party provider you choose and is subject to that provider's terms in addition to these Terms.

3. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Web App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Account, membership, or cloud-storage features. If your jurisdiction requires a higher age to agree to these Terms, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms and supervise your use as required by law.
4. Access and Subscriptions
4.1 Free Features
The Web App provides a set of features available at no cost. These Free Features allow users to explore the platform's functionality before deciding to purchase a paid membership on Patreon. Free Features may include basic image processing tools and limited access to color brands. The scope of Free Features may change at our discretion without notice.
4.2 Patreon Subscriptions
Access to Premium Features is granted by becoming a paid member on our Patreon page.
Premium Features include, but are not limited to:
- Access to over 200 color brands
- Advanced image-to-outline transformation
- Enhanced background removal
- Additional image style transfer options
- Optional synchronization through a supported Cloud Provider
- An ad-free experience
All paid memberships and associated benefits are managed through Patreon. Please visit our Patreon page https://www.patreon.com/artistassistapp to subscribe, change your membership level, or cancel your paid subscription.
For the full Patreon policy, please see Patreon's Policy.
4.3 Subscription Terms
Subscriptions operate on the billing cycle defined by Patreon. Recurring paid subscriptions will be processed automatically by Patreon until you cancel your paid subscription.
You may cancel or modify your Patreon paid subscription at any time via the Patreon website. Cancellation stops future charges but does not affect access to Premium Features until the end of your current billing period as determined by Patreon.
Any changes to membership levels or benefits will be communicated via Patreon. Continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
4.4 Accounts and Optional Cloud Storage
An Account is required for Premium Features and cloud sync. You may authenticate through Patreon or, where offered, by requesting a one-time code at the email address associated with an eligible Patreon membership. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, email account, Patreon account, and any connected Cloud Provider account. You must not allow another person to use your Account in a way that violates these Terms.
Connecting a Cloud Provider is optional. By completing that provider's authorization flow, you instruct and authorize ArtistAssistApp to access its app-specific storage area for the purpose of creating, reading, updating, downloading, synchronizing, and deleting your Cloud Sync data. ArtistAssistApp requests the following least-privilege access:
- Google Drive: the
drive.filescope, used only to obtain an opaque Drive account identifier and to create and manage a visibleArtistAssistAppfolder and files the Web App creates; the Web App does not request, query, or list your other Drive files; - Microsoft OneDrive: ArtistAssistApp's folder in your OneDrive
Appsfolder usingFiles.ReadWrite.AppFolder; and - Dropbox: ArtistAssistApp's Dropbox app folder using scoped file content read/write and metadata read permissions.
In Google Drive, reference photos are stored as ordinary image files with recognizable names and standard extensions in ArtistAssistApp/Photos. Custom color brands, color sets, mixtures, photo references, and other synchronization state are stored in one ArtistAssistApp Data.json file. You can open and rename the reference photos outside the Web App and may delete files created by ArtistAssistApp. Moving a file outside the ArtistAssistApp folder removes it from folder-based synchronization and deletion. If previously synchronized data is missing, the Web App will not silently republish it; it pauses and asks for confirmation before using the current device's data to create it again. Shared drives are not supported.
Deletion follows the selected Cloud Provider's app-storage model:
- Google Drive: Routine synchronization manages obsolete or duplicate reference photos only while they remain inside
ArtistAssistApp/Photos. On a successful disconnection, the Web App moves the completeArtistAssistAppfolder to Google Drive Trash. The in-app server-data deletion control instead requests permanent deletion of that folder. Permanent folder deletion also deletes every user-owned file and subfolder still inside it, including items you placed there yourself. Files moved outside the folder are not deleted. - Microsoft OneDrive: On a successful disconnection or server-data deletion, ArtistAssistApp deletes its OneDrive app folder as one folder operation, including every file and subfolder still inside it. OneDrive moves the deleted folder to its recycle bin. Items moved outside the app folder are outside ArtistAssistApp's app folder permission and are not deleted.
- Dropbox: On a successful disconnection or server-data deletion, ArtistAssistApp deletes every item inside its Dropbox App Folder. Folder deletion is recursive, so files and subfolders you placed there are also deleted. Items moved outside the App Folder are outside ArtistAssistApp's access and are not deleted. Dropbox may retain the empty provider-managed outer App Folder.
Recovery options, recovery copies, and deletion timing are governed by the Cloud Provider.
Cloud Sync content is transferred directly between your browser and the selected Cloud Provider and is stored in your provider account, not on our servers. Our authentication service stores the connection details and encrypted provider tokens required to maintain the connection. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
Cloud storage is subject to provider availability, quotas, technical limits, account status, and provider terms. You remain responsible for keeping independent copies of important data. Cloud Sync is a convenience feature and is not guaranteed to be continuous, complete, recoverable, or free from conflicts or data loss.
5. Refund Policy
All refund requests for paid memberships are handled according to Patreon's refund policy. Because payments are processed through Patreon, we do not issue refunds directly. Please review their policy for full details on eligibility and procedures.
6. Device Compatibility
The Web App is designed to perform optimally on desktop and mobile devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. To ensure full functionality, please verify that your device's operating system and browser meet our minimum system requirements. We recommend testing the Free Features to confirm compatibility before subscribing via Patreon.
We reserve the right to update system requirements and will provide notice of any changes.
7. Data Accuracy and Limitations
- Data accuracy: The data provided on the Web App, including information about color sets, paint properties, paint colors, and related content, is intended for informational purposes only. While we strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, users should be aware that the data may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- Not professional advice: The data on the Web App is not intended to constitute professional advice, recommendations, or opinions in any field, including but not limited to art, painting, or any related discipline. Users should not rely on the data provided on the Web App as a substitute for seeking professional advice or expertise.
- Consult experts: If you require precise or expert advice on color sets, paint properties, paint colors, or related matters, we strongly recommend consulting with knowledgeable experts or professionals who can provide tailored guidance based on your specific needs and circumstances.
- Use at your own risk: Your use of the data on the Web App is at your own risk. We disclaim any liability for any actions taken or decisions made based on the data presented. Users are encouraged to independently verify any information obtained from the Web App before making any decisions or taking any actions.
- Color mixing model limitations: The Web App uses an empirical model to simulate real color mixing. This model is simplistic and does not take into account many factors that are present in reality. The model does not pretend to be scientifically accurate and is intended primarily to produce plausible results for artists. For critical color work, we recommend using physical samples to verify colors.
- sRGB color space limitations: The Web App heavily utilizes the sRGB color space for calculations, which has a limited color gamut. As a result, some colors, especially those outside the sRGB color gamut, may not be accurately represented on the Web App. Users should be aware that colors displayed on the Web App may not precisely match real-world colors due to the limitations of the sRGB color space. Calibrate your monitor regularly to ensure proper color accuracy. For critical color work, we recommend using physical samples to verify colors.
- Dataset and algorithms updates: The Web App may update or revise its datasets, color libraries, or algorithms at any time without prior notice. These changes are intended to enhance accuracy and user experience.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Web App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not make any representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of the Web App for your specific needs.
We do not guarantee that the Web App will be available at all times or that it will be error-free. While we strive to provide a reliable and seamless user experience, interruptions, outages, and technical issues may occur. Your use of the Web App is subject to occasional downtime for maintenance, updates, or other reasons beyond our control. We shall not be liable for any inconvenience, loss, or damage resulting from the unavailability or errors in the Web App. Your use of the Web App acknowledges and accepts the possibility of such interruptions and errors.
9. Limitation of Liability
We, the creators and maintainers of the Web App, shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of your use of the Web App.
Your use of the Web App is at your own risk, and we make no guarantees that the Web App will meet your requirements, be error-free, or operate without interruptions. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages or any loss of profits or data, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of your use or inability to use the Web App.
10. User Content and Data
As between you and ArtistAssistApp, you retain your rights in images, custom color data, color mixtures, and other content you provide to or create with the Web App. You grant us only the limited rights needed to process that content at your direction and provide the features you choose. This permission is non-exclusive, worldwide, and royalty-free, and lasts only for as long as necessary to provide those features and meet applicable legal obligations.
Most user content is processed and stored locally in your browser. If you enable Cloud Sync, supported app data—including saved images and image metadata, custom color brands, custom color sets, and saved color mixtures—will be stored in your own Cloud Provider account. Synchronized content is transferred directly between your browser and the provider and is not stored on our servers.
Our authentication service processes limited account, membership, login, and cloud connection information. Subscription and payment-card data are handled by Patreon. Our Privacy Policy explains the information we process, provider permissions, Google API Limited Use compliance, security, retention, deletion, and your privacy choices.
11. User Responsibilities
- Compliance with laws: Use the Web App in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Respect for others: Do not use the Web App to infringe the rights or privacy of others.
- Prohibited activities: You may not use the Web App for illegal activities, distributing harmful content, attempting unauthorized access, interfering with service security or availability, or circumventing provider limits.
- Rights in content: You may process or back up content only if you own it or have all permissions required to do so. You must not use the Web App to infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.
- Cloud storage: You must connect only a Cloud Provider account that you are authorized to use. Do not manually place unlawful or harmful content in an ArtistAssistApp app folder for the Web App to access. Before disconnecting or deleting server data, move anything you want to keep outside the applicable app folder.
- Backups: Keep an independent copy of important content and confirm that backup and restore operations completed successfully before deleting an original.
- Minimum age: Account, membership, and cloud-storage features are not for children under 13. Any higher local age requirement also applies.
- Device compatibility: Ensure your device, browser, and software meet our minimum system requirements and are kept up to date to maintain full functionality of the Web App.
12. Termination of Access
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or discontinue the Web App—or any portion of it—at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any suspension or termination of access.
- Voluntary cancellation: If you cancel your Patreon subscription, your access to Premium Features will remain in effect until the end of your current billing period, after which all Premium Features will be disabled automatically.
- Cloud disconnection: You may disconnect a Cloud Provider at any time. On a successful disconnection, the Web App performs the provider-specific deletion described in Section 4.4, then deletes its stored cloud connection and tokens. Google Drive moves the complete app folder to Trash; OneDrive moves its app folder to the recycle bin; Dropbox deletes everything still inside its app folder. Files moved outside the applicable app folder are not deleted. You may also revoke authorization in the provider's account settings. Provider-side recovery copies and deletion timing are governed by the provider.
- Server-data deletion: The in-app server-data deletion control requests the provider-specific cloud deletion described above, using permanent deletion for the Google Drive app folder. It then deletes the cloud connection, provider tokens, and account records held by our authentication service and logs you out, even if the Cloud Provider cannot complete file deletion. Any remaining cloud files must then be removed through the provider. This does not cancel your Patreon membership, delete your Cloud Provider account, or delete local data on your device. Patreon login, renewal, or webhook activity may recreate membership lookup records while your Patreon membership continues.
- For cause: We may immediately suspend or terminate your access (including Free Features) if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or otherwise jeopardize the security, integrity, or availability of the Web App. No refund will be given for any unused portion of a paid subscription in such cases.
13. Trademarks and Intellectual Property
- Ownership of Intellectual Property: The developer (Yevhen Khyst) owns the intellectual property rights to the ArtistAssistApp itself (the code, design, text, graphics, original content, features, functionality, and the "ArtistAssistApp" name/logo).
- License to Use: Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Web App according to these terms, but not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of it.
- Third-party trademarks: Throughout the Web App, you may come across product and company names that are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Any such trademarks or registered trademarks are the property of their respective holders. Unauthorized use of trademarks, logos, or branding is strictly prohibited. All trademarks and logos are the property of their respective owners.
- Fair use: The use of these trademarks or registered trademarks on the Web App is for identification purposes only and does not imply any endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship by the respective trademark owners. We acknowledge the rights of trademark owners and use their marks in a manner consistent with fair use and applicable trademark laws.
- No challenge to trademarks: We do not intend to challenge the validity of any trademarks or registered trademarks used on the Web App. The inclusion of these trademarks or registered trademarks is not intended to create confusion or to suggest that we are associated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the owners of these trademarks.
- Reporting concerns: If you believe that the Web App has used a trademark inappropriately or in violation of trademark law, please report your concerns by contacting us by email: View email address.
14. Links to Other Resources
The Web App integrates with or may contain links to third-party services, including Patreon, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and other websites or content. These services are independently operated and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of a Cloud Provider must comply with its rules, and the provider may suspend, limit, modify, or discontinue its service or API. We do not control or guarantee any third-party service.
We do not, directly or indirectly, imply any approval, association, sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation with any linked resource unless specifically stated herein. Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox are identified only to describe optional interoperability. No Cloud Provider sponsors or endorses ArtistAssistApp.
Your interactions and engagements with linked resources are at your own risk, and you should review their respective terms of use and privacy policies. We are not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur as a result of your use of linked resources.
We encourage users to exercise caution when interacting with third-party resources linked from the Web App. Always verify the authenticity and security of any external site before providing personal information. We are not responsible for any issues that arise from such interactions.
15. Updates to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or revise these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page and reflected in the "Last updated" date. If a material change requires new cloud-provider authorization or consent, we will request it before using provider data for the new purpose. Your continued use of the Web App after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
